Kellyn Doerr is a journalist and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. She writes and produces a diverse range of subjects for editorial and video outlets.
Kellyn Elizabeth Doerr believes that journalism is a service to the public and that the people have a right to information and truth.
She was born in the Upper West Side of Manhattan but after moving all across the country in her youth, she settled down in Providence, Rhode Island with her family and is proud to call it her home. She fell in love with movies, particularly documentaries, at a young age after watching "Grizzly Man" and soon dreamed of making her own one day. She grew up with two parents and a grandfather in journalism, which influenced her decision to join the media world.
Originally a writer, Doerr studied at the University of Vermont with a degree in English and Communications, graduating in 2021. She is now pursuing her master's degree in documentary filmmaking at New York University and is set to graduate in the winter of 2025.
Doerr currently lives in Brooklyn with her fiancé and two cats, and in her free time (when she's not behind a camera), she likes to watch bad reality TV and craft charcuterie boards for her friends.
